2015 proved to be another early harvest for us at Petrichor Vineyards. Once again, the warm, dry winter gave way to an early bud break. The moderate summer months provided ideal conditions for flavor and tannin development, resulting in beautiful, high quality wines. Our two blocks of Syrah were brought in a week apart and fermented separately in 2015. The Syrah fermentations were carried out in open top fermenters and contained approximately 40% wholecluser. Once the primary fermentation was complete, the wine was pressed off to neutral-french barrels for 16 months of barrel aging and bottled the following winter.
